Vigilance sleuths search Irrigation Asst Engineer in Bargarh

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Cuttack, June 13: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday searched the houses and office room of an Assistant Engineer of Bargarh Irrigation Division and unearthed documents relating to acquisition of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to a release from Vigilance Director’s office, the sleuths searched the residential Government quarter of Tankadhar Meher at Irrigation Colony, Bargarh, one double-storied building at Sargibahal under Padampur Police Station, one duplex building at Balaji city Complex in Bargarh town, house of relative at Ghasian under Larmbha Police Station in Bolangir district and his office room at Bargarh simultaneously on the strength of search warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Sambalpur.
In course of search Meher was found in possession of assets worth Rs. 1,10,47,218 including one double-storied building, one duplex building, nine plots at Padampur and Bargarh, one Maruti Suzuki Astra car, two motor cycles, deposits in different banks, post office and insurance policies , gold ornaments and costly household articles, the release added.
Further enquiry is in progress, the release said.
