Vigilance Raids 7 Properties of Dharmasala ABDO Asit Kumar Patra in DA Probe

Bhubaneswar: In a major action against alleged corruption, Odisha Vigilance on Thursday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Sri Asit Kumar Patra, Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) of Dharmasala Block in Jajpur district. The raids are being conducted on the basis of allegations that Patra has amassed disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.

The operation is being carried out by a team comprising 8 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 9 Inspectors, and several other supporting personnel, under the authority of search warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.

The seven locations being searched are spread across Jajpur, Cuttack, Bhadrak, and Bhubaneswar (Khordha) districts. The list includes:

  1. A four-storeyed building owned by Patra located at Chorda near Kanheipur in Jajpur Road, under Jajpur Road Police Station limits.
  2. Flat No. 404(A) on the 4th floor of Metro Avenue Apartment at Chauliaganj in Cuttack.
  3. His ancestral house at Garadeswar near Sundarimuhan, in Jajpur district.
  4. A relative’s house at Sanabanasta village, PO-Nerada, via Akhuapada, under Bhandaripokhari PS in Bhadrak district.
  5. The government residential quarter allotted to him as ABDO in Dharmasala Block.
  6. His office room at the Dharmasala Block office.
  7. A homestead plot owned by him at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar.

The searches are currently underway and officials have not yet disclosed the details of the recoveries or findings.
