Underwater Camera to Search for Subhashree’s Body

Rajnagar: The mystery surrounding the death of 19-year-old Subhashree Das of Rajapur village under Rajnagar police station in Kendrapara district remains unresolved, even 15 days after the incident.
Kendrapara SP Siddharth Kataria said an underwater camera would be used to search for Subhashree’s body in the Hansua River. Despite multiple search operations conducted by the fire services personnel, no trace of her has been found.
The SP expressed hope that the underwater camera would help locate the body and shed light on the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and suspected death.
Questions remain over what exactly happened to Subhashree and where her body went.
Family performed last rites despite missing report
In a puzzling development, Subhashree’s family reportedly performed her shuddhi (post-death purification rites) just a day after a missing-person case was registered at the police station.
Her grandfather had lodged a complaint reporting her disappearance at Rajnagar police station. However, the family reportedly performed the rituals seven days after she went missing, even though her whereabouts and death had not been officially confirmed.
A priest had claimed that the family performed the rituals after recovering Subhashree’s body and immersing it in the river. This claim, however, remains to be verified as the search for her body continues.
