Two Youths Killed, One Critical After Group Clash Near Temple in Bargarh

Bargarh: Two young men lost their lives and another was critically injured following a violent group clash near the Hatapada Sai Temple in Bargarh on Thursday evening, prompting heightened police vigil in the area.
The deceased have been identified as Pradeep Luha (24) from College Road and Suraj Barik (24) of Gobindapali. A third injured person, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, is undergoing treatment at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla and is reported to be in critical condition.

According to initial reports, the incident began with an argument between two groups near the temple, which quickly escalated into a violent clash. Sharp weapons, reportedly bhujali, were allegedly used during the confrontation.
All three injured individuals were first taken to the Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital. Pradeep Luha succumbed to his injuries late at night while undergoing treatment. Due to the severity of their condition, the other two were referred to VIMSAR for advanced care, where Suraj Barik later died.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the clash and identify those responsible. Security has been tightened in the locality to prevent further unrest, and efforts are underway to maintain law and order.
