Two Youths Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on NH-16 in Odisha’s Khurda

Bhubaneswar: Two youths were killed after the scooter they were riding was hit by an unknown vehicle near Dadhimachhagadia Square on National Highway-16 under Sadar police limits in Khurda district on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Bikash Baral and Shubhransu Sundaray, both residents of Sanahantuad village in Banapur area. According to reports, the duo was travelling from Banapur towards Bhubaneswar when the accident occurred.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the impact of the collision was severe, leaving the scooter badly damaged. The victims were reportedly on their way to attend a job interview when an unidentified vehicle rammed into their two-wheeler and fled the spot.

On being alerted, police reached the scene, seized the damaged scooter, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to identify the vehicle involved and ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
