Two-Month-Old Infant Suffers Severe Burns After Falling into Hearth in Balasore

Bhubaneswar: A two-month-old infant sustained severe burn injuries after accidentally falling into a burning hearth at Chalanti village under Jaleswar police station limits in Balasore district on Tuesday.
According to reports, the family of Taran Hembram had lit a fire near their house to keep warm amid the prevailing cold conditions. At the time of the incident, the infant was being held by her mother close to the burning embers. In a sudden moment, the baby reportedly slipped from her mother’s arms and fell into the hearth, allegedly due to negligence.
The infant suffered burns on more than half of her body. Family members immediately rescued the child from the fire and rushed her to Basta Hospital for treatment. Considering the severity of the injuries, doctors referred the baby to the District Headquarters Hospital in Balasore for advanced medical care.
