Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of Rahul Gandhi and Kharge’s Visit to Bhubaneswar on July 11

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has issued a traffic advisory for Bhubaneswar ahead of the scheduled visit of senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday, July 11. With multiple high-profile events and roadshows lined up, commuters have been urged to plan their travel in advance to avoid major congestion across key city routes.
According to the advisory, heavy traffic congestion is expected between 10 AM and 12 Noon on the stretch from Airport Square to Jaydev Vihar Square, as Rahul Gandhi—Leader of Opposition (Lok Sabha)—and Mallikarjun Kharge—AICC President and Leader of Opposition (Rajya Sabha)—are set to lead a massive roadshow. The affected route includes Hospital Square, AG Square, Raj Bhawan Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, and Behera Sahi Square.
Post the roadshow, the two leaders will address a public meeting at Baramunda Ground, leading to expected congestion from Baramunda Square to Hotel Mayfair via Jaydev Vihar Square between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM.
Later in the day, they will attend a meeting with the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) office-bearers at the party headquarters located at Master Canteen Square. This event will likely cause traffic snarls between Hotel Mayfair and Master Canteen Square via Jaydev Vihar, Behera Sahi, 120 Battalion, Power House, Raj Bhawan, AG, and PMG Squares, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
Their departure route is also expected to face congestion from Master Canteen Square to Airport Square (via PMG Square, AG Square, and Hospital Square) between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
The Commissionerate Police has urged commuters to use alternative routes and avoid the affected areas during the specified hours to prevent delays and ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the city.
