Tokyo Olympics 2020: 2 Odia Players In Indian Men’s Hockey Team

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Two players Birendra Lakra and Amit Rohidas from Odisha have been selected in the 16-member team for Tokyo Olympics 2020 Indian Men’s Hockey.
Hockey India announced on Friday the 16-member.
Chief Coach Graham Reid said “It has not been an easy process to make the final selection of 16 players as there is a lot of quality and ambition in this group of players. The performance levels of all the athletes are at an optimum level and more importantly, they work well together. They know what it means to represent the country at the Olympics. We are now focused on training with the same intensity and our goal is to put forward our best performance as a collective unit in Tokyo”
The team also includes P R Sreejesh, Harmanpreet Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh, Surender Kumar, Amit Rohidas, Birendra Larka, Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Nilakanta Sharma, Sumit, Shamsher Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Gurjant Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhay and Mandeep Singh.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated all the two selected Birendra Lakra and Amit Rohidas players through Twitter.

Yesterday, Deep Grace Ekka as the only Odia player was selected in the Indian Women’s team for the mega competition.
