Three Vans Carrying Cows Intercepted in Cuttack, Dozens of Animals Rescued

Cuttack: In a dramatic late-night interception, Bajrang Dal activists from Khordha chased and stopped three pickup vans allegedly transporting cows illegally towards Cuttack. The incident took place on the Jatamundia–Subarnapur Bridge under the Banki area.
According to reports, the activists pursued the speeding vehicles for a considerable distance before intercepting them. During the chase, one of the overloaded vans overturned on the bridge while attempting to escape, triggering chaos at the spot.

Several cows fell onto the road and scattered in distress, with some sustaining injuries. The driver of the overturned vehicle fled the scene, abandoning the vehicles.
On being informed, police rushed to the location, seized all three vans along with nearly 30 cows, and launched a detailed investigation into the alleged illegal transportation network.
Meanwhile, the activists, who tracked the vehicles from Khordha and handed them over to the police, alleged a rising trend of illegal cattle transportation in the region. They claimed that repeated incidents point to administrative inaction, which they say is enabling such unlawful activities to continue unchecked.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the full extent of the operation and identify those involved.
