Three Held With Leopard Skin in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: Forest officials on Friday detained three persons and seized a leopard skin near Nunpani village under the Kodinga forest range in Nabarangpur district.
The detainees include two alleged sellers and one buyer, all residents of the Jharigan block. Acting on a tip-off, a special team of forest personnel intercepted the group and recovered the leopard skin, which was reportedly being negotiated for sale at around ₹5 lakh.

All three have been taken into custody under relevant wildlife protection laws. Forest officials have initiated a detailed investigation to trace the origin of the leopard skin and identify others involved in the illegal wildlife trade network.
Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing probe, officials said.
