Three Class X Students Drown in Kolab Reservoir in Koraput

Koraput: Tragedy struck in Odisha’s Koraput district on Saturday as three Class X students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya drowned in the Kolab reservoir after reportedly venturing into deep water while bathing.

According to sources, the students had gone to the reservoir to take a bath after completing their CBSE Class X examination. During the bath, they allegedly moved into deeper parts of the reservoir, lost their balance and were swept away by the water.

On receiving information about the incident, teams from the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and the Fire Services rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. After an extensive search, the rescuers retrieved the three students from the reservoir.

The victims were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared them dead on arrival.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
