Telecom Firms Earn ₹8,729 Crore from Odisha Users in 2025: TRAI Report

Bhubaneswar: Telecom companies generated nearly ₹8,729 crore in revenue from mobile phone users in Odisha in 2025, according to a report released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The figures underline the growing dependence on mobile connectivity and digital services across the State.

As per the data, people in Odisha collectively spent an average of around ₹24 crore per day on mobile services, which translates to nearly ₹1 crore every hour throughout the year.

Revenue Performance and Market Share

Among the service providers, Jio emerged as the highest revenue earner in Odisha, collecting ₹4,470 crore during 2025. Airtel followed with earnings of ₹3,269 crore. State-run BSNL recorded revenue of ₹760 crore, while Vodafone Idea earned ₹212 crore. Tata Teleservices reported revenue of around ₹18 crore.

In terms of revenue market share, Jio led with 52.32 per cent, maintaining a dominant position in the State. Airtel secured 37.38 per cent of the market share, while BSNL accounted for 7.60 per cent. Vodafone Idea held 2.48 per cent, and Tata Teleservices had a marginal share of 0.2 per cent.

Subscriber Base in Odisha

The total number of mobile subscribers in Odisha stood at 3,72,62,298 as of December 2025. Jio recorded the highest subscriber base with 1,72,54,138 users. Airtel followed with 1,29,99,819 subscribers. BSNL had 55,18,354 users, while Vodafone Idea’s customer base stood at 14,89,987.

The data highlights the rapid expansion of the telecom sector in Odisha, reflecting increasing digital adoption and mobile usage across both urban and rural areas of the State.
