TATA Steel MD and CEO T.V. Narendran calls on Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: TATA Steel MD T.V. Narendran Meets CM Mohan Majhi today called on Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today and explored project expansion and new investment opportunities in the state.

Their meeting’s discussions was reportedly centered on mutual cooperation, Industrial expansion, and new investments in the state of Odisha and Narendran reaffirmed Tata Steel’s strong commitment to the state. Tata Steel has two of its most important facilities in Kalinganagar (Jajpur) and Meramandali (Dhenkanal).

Kalinganagar in Jajpur district is one of the State’s largest greenfield steel projects, commissioned in 2016, with a current capacity of 3 MTPA, under expansion to 8 MTPA. The plant focuses on high-end flat steel products and has boosted jobs, skills, and local enterprise.

Likewise, the Meramandali (Dhenkanal) plant which it acquired from Bhushan Steel in 2018. The plant with a capacity of 5.6 MTPA is producing a wide range of flat steel products and serving key sectors like infrastructure and construction.

With the combined strength of these plants and extensive mining operations, Odisha undoubtedly has become a strategic hub for Tata Steel’s growth.

On the other hand CM Mohan Majhi welcomed Tata Steel’s continued interest and assured full state support for industrial growth, sustainable development, and community welfare.
