Tara Prasad Bahinipati attacked in Koraput

Koraput: Veteran Congress leader and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati was attacked by a man during a rally on Friday at Koraput.

The man allegedly slapped Bahinipati at the Koraput bus stand during a torchlight rally. His PSO has lodged a complaint against the man in the police station.

The man was identified as Krushna Kuldeep. He also lodged a complaint against Tara Prasad Bahinipati and his two brothers- Tuna Bahinipati and Bhagaban Bahinipati.

He mentioned in the complaint that the Bahinipati brothers were conspiring to kill him. His complaint also mentioned that the Congress MLA’s men attacked and abused him with vulgar words as he went tried to talk to the MLA.

However, no official statement of Bahinipati or his brothers have been received as yet. The video of the incident in going viral in social media.

Tara prasad Bahinipati is quite famous for boycotting the State Assembly and staging protests. He has been elected to the Legislative Assembly for 5 terms in 2000, 2004, 2014, 2019 and 2024.
