SUV Falls from Puri Parking Facility, Driver Critical

Puri: A man was critically injured after his SUV plunged from the first floor of the Jagannath Ballav multi-level car parking facility in Puri on Sunday.

The driver, a resident of Dhamara, reportedly lost control while reversing into a parking slot. The vehicle, still in reverse gear, slipped off the edge due to the absence of a guard wall and crashed to the ground.

Eyewitnesses said the SUV appeared unstable during the manoeuvre before toppling over. Locals rushed to the spot after hearing a loud crash and pulled the driver out of the mangled vehicle. He was shifted to Puri District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition.

The incident has triggered concerns over safety standards at the parking complex, particularly the lack of protective barriers.
