Supreme Court Seeks Rahul Gandhi’s Response in Pregnant Journalist Assault Allegation

The Supreme Court has sought a response from Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and others over a petition alleging that he pushed a pregnant journalist during a march to the court on October 12.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi issued notices to Gandhi and the other respondents after the plea was brought before it.

The incident allegedly took place when Gandhi, accompanied by several opposition leaders and supporters, arrived at the Supreme Court to submit a petition concerning alleged deletions of voters’ names and irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The court’s notice seeks responses from the concerned parties on the allegations raised in the petition. The claims remain allegations, and the proceedings will continue as the matter comes under judicial consideration.
