Sundargarh: Elephant critical after being hit by train

Rajgangpur: An elephant turned critical after being hit by a train in Sundargarh today. Accordingly, train services have been affected.

As per reports, a train hit an elephant while it was crossing the rail track near the Sagara railway station in Rajgangpur area of Sundargarh district in Odisha on Thursday morning. The incident took place near the Sagara railway station under Rajgangpur Forest Range.

The critically injured elephant is lying on the railway tracks. Seeing the elephant in a critical condition, some people informed the Forest Department and the police.

On the other hand, there is general concern as to why the Forest Department officials have not reached the spot yet while the elephant is fighting for his life following the collision.

On the other hand, the running of trains in this route has been disrupted as the elephant is lying on the rail track and yet to be rescued. Till this report was written, the Forest Department personnel had not reached the spot to rescue the elephant.
