Subhadra Yojana: 3rd Installment on Aug 9, Portal to Reopen for New Applications

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced that the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana will be disbursed on August 9, coinciding with Rakhi Purnima. On the same day, the Subhadra portal will reopen to accept new applications from eligible women across the state.

The Subhadra Yojana, a flagship scheme aimed at empowering women through financial support, has seen widespread interest. However, nearly two lakh applications were rejected in recent months after verification revealed ineligibility. These included women who filed income tax returns after receiving the first installment, purchased vehicles, or owned five or more acres of land.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida emphasized that the government is determined to ensure only genuine beneficiaries receive support. “A fresh survey will be conducted after August 9 to identify eligible women who were previously left out,” she stated.

The government will also carry out door-to-door verification drives to reassess the eligibility of applicants. Those found eligible during this process will receive their benefits without delay, Parida assured.

The Subhadra portal (subhadra.odisha.gov.in) will reopen after August 9, enabling women aged 21 years and above to register online for the scheme. The move is aimed at expanding the scheme’s outreach and ensuring broader inclusion.

Additionally, documents of around 93,000 women aged over 60 years have been forwarded to the Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department for pension disbursement under related welfare measures.
