State to observe June 14 as ‘Lok Kala Diwas’ in State

Surjit kumar Dhal, Bhubaneswar, Feb 22: Odisha Government will observe June 14 as Lok Kala Diwas to promote folk music, culture and art.

            This was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the valedictory function of ninth Lok Kala Mahostav here this evening.

            The Chief Minister on this occasion highlighted the measures initiated by his government to promote folk culture.

            “The State government has constituted Kalakar Sangh and providing Rs 50,000 financial assistance to artistes,” he said.

            Further, the State government is also forming Lok Kala villages in every district as part of its efforts to promote folk culture, he said.
