Stampede Scare at Shreya Ghoshal Concert in Cuttack; Two Faint

Bhubaneswar: A stampede-like situation erupted on Wednesday evening during the Shreya Ghoshal concert at Cuttack’s historic Baliyatra ground, causing panic among thousands of attendees. Two visitors, including a woman, reportedly fainted in the chaos near the stage barricade as the crowd surged forward to catch a glimpse of the popular Bollywood singer.

Eyewitnesses said the situation turned tense when the concert was about to begin, and eager fans started pushing toward the front. The two victims were quickly given first aid at the on-site medical centre and later shifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Police and event organisers immediately swung into action, deploying additional security personnel to manage the situation and prevent further crowding. The Additional Commissioner of Police also reached the venue to supervise crowd control and ensure public safety.

Despite the brief commotion, the concert resumed smoothly, with Shreya Ghoshal later taking the stage to mesmerise the audience with her soulful performance.
