Sri Lankan PRO Delegation Explores Odisha’s Cultural Heritage

Bhubaneswar: A delegation of public relations officers from Sri Lanka, currently on a visit to Odisha, toured the Konark Sun Temple, Emperor Ashoka’s rock edicts, and the Dhauli Peace Pagoda on Wednesday, gaining firsthand experience of the state’s rich cultural and historical legacy.

The visiting team lauded Odisha’s vibrant art, culture, cuisine, and Buddhist heritage, noting close similarities with Sri Lanka’s own traditions. They said the exposure would deepen their understanding of India’s cultural diversity while helping to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Odisha Information and Public Relations Department, and local tour guides accompanied the delegation during the cultural tour.

Highlighting the state’s shared Buddhist roots, the Sri Lankan representatives described the experience as “a bridge of friendship” between India and Sri Lanka.
