Special SOP to be issued for security of Srimandir, says Puri SP

Puri: On the repeated spotting of spy cameras inside the Srimandir, the Puri SP on Tuesday has said that a special SOP shall soon be issued in this regard.

It is worth mentioning here that, hidden cameras have been spotted inside the temple thrice in the last eight days. Though it has been detected and stopped by the temple police and security personnel, this is becoming a trend, said the Puri SP.

Though the drone problem has subsided, the number of hidden cameras being spotted inside the temple is increasing with each passing day. The people caught with cameras have been warned and arrested for the act of taking photos by linking the camera with glasses. inside the Srimandir.

He further added, all the security personnel posted around the temple have been directed to be strict in this regard. The SP further added that a new special Standard operating procedure or SOP will be issued for the security of the temple.

He added that, metal detectors will also be installed if necessary. When asked if some YouTubers are doing this for the sake of earning money, Puri SP Pinak Mishra said that discussions have been held with the temple administration to bring a law to prevent this.
