Special OTET Rescheduled for August 31 After Paper Leak

Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has officially announced that the Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (Special OTET) will now be conducted on August 31, following its earlier postponement due to a question paper leak.
According to the latest notification issued by the BSE, the exam will be held in two sittings — the first session from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second session from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Candidates who registered for the test will be able to download their admit cards from August 22 via the official website of BSE, Odisha.
Originally scheduled for July 20, the Special OTET was postponed just a day before the exam after authorities confirmed a question paper leak. A total of 75,403 in-service primary school teachers had registered for the test across the state.
In the aftermath, the Odisha Crime Branch launched an investigation and has since arrested six individuals, including the prime accused, who was found to be a data entry operator working within the BSE office.
“The prime suspect accessed the official laptop containing the confidential question paper and leaked its contents to his accomplices,” informed Vinaytosh Mishra, DGP of the Odisha Crime Branch.
The Crime Branch continues to probe deeper into the leak to ensure accountability and prevent similar breaches in the future.
