Soro: 3 hunters arrested, 5 guns seized

Soro: Three men were arrested by Forest Department for illegal hunting in Betei forest under the Kuladhia Sanctuary here in Balasore district on Saturday. The Forest Department has also seized five country made guns from the arrested hunters.

According to sources, the Forest Department had installed AI cameras in the Betei forest for tiger census purpose. Thanks to the AI camera, the Forest Department spotted the hunters roaming in the forest with the weapons and started a search operation for them with the photos.

Forest Officer Harihar Majhi and Kuldhia Range Officer arrested one person from Betei village and two others from Narasinghsila village on basis of the photos captured in the Ai camera.

They also seized the five guns hidden in the forest.
