Sleepless Night For Padampur

Bhubaneswar: A whopping 81.29% polling in the Padampur by-poll has raised hopes of both Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Both parties claimed that they would win the by-election, the counting of which will be held tomorrow.
It is a direct and close fight between BJD’s Barsha Singh Bariha and Pradip Purohit from the Saffron party. The Congress party has already admitted that it would come third in the election.
Padampur is crucial for the ruling BJD, which lost the Dhamnagar Assembly seat to the BJP last month. The ruling party has put all its resources to work to win the election.
On the other hand, the opposition BJP hopes that the wining of the by-poll would give a boost to the party cadre ahead of 2024 general elections.
