Shikhar Dhawan to marry Sophie Shine in February

Ex-India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan will be getting married to his longtime girlfriend Sophie Shine, an Irish lady, this February, reports Hindustan Times. The report also said that the extravagant wedding celebrations are planned for the third week of February and the venue will be the Delhi-NCR area. Several personalities from the cricket and Bollywood world will be there to grace the occasion.

“It’s a new beginning and they are treating it with quiet happiness and a lot of gratitude,” a source told HT City.Shine is the head of Shikhar Dhawan Foundation. Dhawan also unveiled his autobiography recently (The One: My Life and More).

As reported earlier by HT City, the duo met in Dubai a few years back where they became friends and it turned into a relationship later. The couple has been living together for over a year now and are serious to build a life with each other.

Dhawan and Shine got into the spotlight after the couple were seen watching ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches together. Dhawan recently spoke about his relationship in public as well. He did not name Sophie but spoke candidly about finding a companion.

Dhawan’s first marriage

Dhawan was earlier married to Australia-based Ayesha Mukherjee. They also have a son, who’s 11-year-old named Zoravar Dhawan. He got divorced in Delhi on October 5 in 2023 after 11 years of marriage.

Dhawan’s career

Dhawan delivered his services for India in all three formats (34 Tests, 167 ODIs, 68 T20Is) and is fondly remembered as “Gabbar” by cricket enthusiast. He also had his share of fun in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL), where he represented five franchises, which included opening with Australian southpaw David Warner at Sunrisers Hyderabad, and then leading the Punjab Kings.
