Seven Shops Gutted in Massive Fire in Jajpur, No Casualties Reported

Bhubaneswar: A major fire broke out in the Brahmabarada area of Jajpur district late Sunday night, completely destroying seven shops and causing extensive property damage.

According to reports, the blaze erupted around 2:30 AM in a cluster of shops, triggering panic among local residents. Upon receiving the alert, fire personnel from the Baruan Fire Department rushed to the spot and launched a firefighting operation. After strenuous efforts, the flames were brought under control, but not before all seven shops were reduced to ashes.

Goods, cash, and other valuables stored inside the establishments were completely destroyed, resulting in heavy financial losses for the affected traders.

While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, initial suspicion points towards a possible electrical short circuit. Authorities have begun an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the incident.

The affected shopkeepers have urged the government to provide immediate compensation and support to help them recover from the losses.
