Seven CFI Capstone Winners to Represent Odisha in Japan from Feb 24

Bhubaneswar: Seven Capstone Project winners of the Certificate in FinTech & InsurTech (CFI) Programme, along with two officers from the Odisha Government’s Higher Education Department, will travel to Japan on an official visit from February 24 to March 4, 2026, representing the programme’s first cohort.

The students, recipients of the MUFG Young Innovators Award, have been recognised for their outstanding academic performance, innovation potential, and leadership demonstrated throughout the programme. The award acknowledges their excellence in developing forward-looking solutions in the field of digital finance.

As part of the recognition, the students will take part in an international immersion programme aimed at exposing them to Japan’s financial innovation ecosystem. The visit will include institutional tours, industry engagements, interactive learning forums, and a visit to the Embassy of India in Tokyo.

A key highlight of the visit will be their participation in the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) Forum Japan 2026, where they will present their award-winning Capstone Project titled “TRANCHIFY” before an audience of global experts and industry leaders.

The CFI Programme has been jointly developed with the National University of Singapore’s Asian Institute of Digital Finance (NUS-AIDF) and the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN). The initiative aims to equip thousands of students with the knowledge and skills required for careers in digital finance and emerging financial technologies.

This inaugural overseas visit marks a significant milestone for the programme and reflects Odisha’s growing footprint in the global fintech and financial innovation landscape, providing young talent with an international platform to showcase their ideas and capabilities.
