School student dies while dancing during Ganesh Puja

Balasore: The Ganesh Puja celebration at Radhamadhab Jew High School under Nilagiri police station limits in Odisha’s Balasore district was marred with the tragic death of a student on Wednesday.

One Priyanshu Pritam Dasbabu, the son of Laxmi Narayan Dasbabu of Siadimal village, had gone to the school along with his friends for the Ganesh Puja celebration.

As part of the Ganesh Puja celebrations, the students were busy in dancing and making merry. Dasbabu, a class IX student, was also having a good time with his friends and was dancing. However, he collapsed on the ground all of a sudden.

One of the teachers who saw Dasbabu lying on the ground soon rushed to the spot and alerted others after finding him in a senseless state.

Immediately, Priyanshu Pritam Dasbabu was taken to the Nilagiri Hospital for treatment and his family members were intimated about it. Unfortunately, the doctors declared him brought dead. However, the exact cause of the student’s death is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on the school and the locality following the untimely and tragic death of Dasbabu while everyone was busy in celebration.

While speaking to the newsmen about the student’s death, one Diptikant Singh, a villager, said, “We rushed him the student to the hospital in a private vehicle. But the doctors pronounced him dead as his heartbeats have already stopped. He (doctor) said that the student died due to heart attack. But now got to hear that he (Dasbabu) was not well as he was suffering from fever and went to the school for the Ganesh Puja without any food because he had a fast.”

“Whatever may be the reason of his death, but we are heartbroken over his demise,” he added.
