School Building Lies Unused as Students Continue to Suffer Due to Administrative Apathy

Ganjam: A government school building constructed with public funds remains unused due to administrative negligence, leaving students deprived of proper educational facilities. Despite the completion of the school infrastructure, academic activities have not commenced, raising serious concerns over the functioning of the education department.
According to local sources, the school building was constructed several years ago with the objective of improving access to education in the area. However, due to the non-appointment of teachers and lack of basic arrangements, the building has remained locked and abandoned. As a result, students are either forced to attend classes in dilapidated structures or travel long distances to other schools.

Residents alleged that repeated appeals to local authorities and education officials have yielded no results. The unused building is now overgrown with bushes and shows signs of damage, highlighting wastage of government funds.
Parents expressed concern that the lack of proper schooling is adversely affecting their children’s future. They demanded immediate intervention by the district administration to appoint teachers, make the school functional, and ensure quality education for local children.
The issue has once again brought to light the gap between infrastructure development and actual implementation on the ground, with locals urging the authorities to take urgent corrective steps.
