Sasmit Patra Resigns as BJD Parliamentary Party Leader in Rajya Sabha

Bhubaneswar: In a significant political development, senior Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra has resigned from his position as the Parliamentary Party Leader of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the Upper House.
Patra, who represents Odisha in the Rajya Sabha, submitted his resignation letter to BJD President and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

He had been holding the key leadership role since July 2022, when he was elected to the Rajya Sabha for a second term. His resignation marks an important shift in the party’s parliamentary leadership.
