Santanu Kumar Swain Appointed Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University

Bhubaneswar: Santanu Kumar Swain, a distinguished academic and professor at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University.

President Droupadi Murmu, in her capacity as the Visitor of the central university, approved Swain’s appointment. The Union Ministry of Education issued an official notification on Thursday.

A native of Puri district in Odisha, Swain will serve a term of five years or until he turns 70, whichever comes earlier. Currently serving in the Department of Education at BHU, Swain holds an MA and M.Phil in Education from Kurukshetra University, and a PhD and D.Litt from Utkal University in Odisha.

Before joining BHU, he taught at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, contributing significantly to the field of education through his research and academic leadership.
