RSP bags seven awards in Ispat Suraksha Puraskar-2019

ROURKELA, FEB 19: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has bagged seven awards in different categories of Ispat Suraksha Puraskar-2019 given by the Joint Committee on Safety, Health & Environment in the Steel Industry (JCSSI) at Ranchi.

SC Mohanty, DGM In-charge (Safety Engineering Department), RSP received the award on behalf of Rourkela Steel Plant from Harinand Rai, Chairman, JCSSI & Director (Technical), SAIL  in the annual award function organized recently.

RSP won the coveted Ispat Suraksha Puraskar for the safety endeavours in Coal and Coke Zone, Rolling Mill Zone and involving Contract Labour. Besides, four employees of RSP also bagged prizes in individual competitions. Manas Ranjan Behera and Shashi Bhushan Das won second prize in Safety Poster Design competition while Prashant Sahu and Badal Kumar Kar bagged third Prize in the Safety Essay competition.

Gautam Banerjee, ED (Works), RSP presented the awards to the departments concerned and individuals at a function on Monday.

Notably, JCSSI, a national level bipartite forum of management and trade union representatives from 20 public and private sector steel companies, organises national level competitions with a view to generating and promoting safety awareness amongst the employees of the member organisations.
