Rourkela Police Conduct Four-Day Cyber Investigation Training to Boost Crime-Fighting Capabilities

Rourkela: In a significant step towards strengthening its cybercrime investigation framework, Rourkela Police organised a four-day Cyber Investigation Training Programme at RIMS, Rourkela, from March 23 to March 26.
The initiative aimed at enhancing the technical expertise and professional skills of police personnel to effectively address the growing challenges posed by cybercrime in today’s digital landscape. The training sessions were conducted by cyber experts Shaik Ghousal Mubarak, Nitesh Kumar, and Mohammad Nazim from the National Police Academy, Hyderabad.
Participants received hands-on training in key areas such as cybercrime investigation techniques, digital evidence handling, use of OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) tools, and understanding emerging cyber threats. The programme also included practical exercises, enabling officers to simulate real-life cybercrime scenarios and gain experience in evidence collection and analysis.
Senior officials, including DIGP (Western Range) Brijesh Kumar Rai and Rourkela SP Nitesh Wadhwani, attended the programme and encouraged participants to apply their newly acquired skills in real-world investigations.
Officials highlighted that such training initiatives are vital for improving policing efficiency and ensuring public safety in an increasingly technology-driven world.
