Robbers Loot Over ₹1 Lakh at Gunpoint from Shop in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: In a daring late-night robbery, three armed miscreants looted over ₹1 lakh from a shopkeeper at gunpoint in Pandarsil village under Raruan police station limits of Mayurbhanj district on Friday.

The incident took place around 9:20 pm when the shop owner, Mayadhar Sahoo, was closing his outlet, Gandhi Variety Store. According to Sahoo, one of the robbers posed as a customer and asked for biscuits, but as he declined while shutting the store, two more men appeared.

“One threatened me with a gun, another brandished a dagger at my assistant. They forcibly snatched my bag containing business records and around ₹70,000 in cash. Additionally, they took ₹40,000 from my pocket,” Sahoo recounted.

Following the incident, Sahoo filed a complaint with Raruan police, who reached the spot soon after and launched an investigation. Efforts are on to trace and nab the culprits.
