Road Safety Awareness Programme Held at RITE College, Khordha

Khordha: As part of the ongoing “Operation Jeevan Raksha (Road Safety)” initiative of the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Central Range, Cuttack, a Road Safety Education and Awareness Programme–2026 was organised at the RITE College campus in Khordha on Thursday.
The programme witnessed the participation of around 110 students from RITE College and JRG (Jagat Ram Gupta) Pharmacy College. The initiative aimed at educating young road users about traffic rules, safe driving practices, and responsible behaviour on public roads.

Addressing the gathering, RITE College Principal Subash Ranjan Kabat encouraged students to follow traffic norms and adopt responsible road behaviour to ensure their own safety and that of others.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Khordha, Sri Jugal Kumar Mallik, OPS-I, who is also the Nodal Officer of the Road Safety Cell, highlighted key aspects of road safety, accident prevention, and the importance of discipline while driving and commuting.

Inspector-in-Charge of IE Police Station, Sri Umesh Chandra Nayak, along with police station staff, actively participated in the programme and sensitised students about road safety norms and preventive measures to reduce accidents.
The awareness programme focused on instilling a sense of responsibility, discipline, and safety consciousness among youth, contributing to the larger objective of minimising road accidents and saving lives.
