Recommendation Vs. Eligibility!

Bhubaneswar (Surjit Kumar Dhal): The trumpet for municipal elections blew all over the State. All the regional and national political parties are all set to perform their best in the upcoming polls. Recently the Indian National Congress has announced its Mayor candidate for Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). Similarly the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), who performed superb in the recent concluded Panchayat polls is searching capable candidate. The BMC is the most important place for all parties.

All the ticket expecting candidates are regularly visiting the houses of local MLAs to be recommended their names to the party boss for tickets. Here we are to discuss about the candidate selection by former BMC mayor and current Bhubaneswar legislator Ananta Narayan Jena. All the wards under Jena’s supervision has more than 5 aspirants, who want to contest with BJD ticket. Its not about aspirants, the party needs capable and reliable candidate for ULB polls.

But according to current scene, the recommendation means a lot. BJD boss Naveen Patnaik always focuses on eligible person. But the above leader engaged in favoritism. The ruling party needs strong and clear personality for candidate selection to keep up the tremendous performance in upcoming ULB elections.
