RBL Bank Lands in Odisha

Bhubaneswar,  Dec 13

RBL Bank has made its landing in Odisha with inauguration of its first brick & mortar branch by Chief Secretary  Aditya Prasad Padhi here on Thursday  near Jayadev Vihar square.

Opening the branch, the Chief Secretary asked the bank authorities to open more branches in unbanked rural pockets of the State.

Padhi said that the medium and small scale enterprises would get a real boost with more number of rural branches. Since Odisha has enormous potential in agri-business, fishery, farming, food processing, contract farming, cash crop etc the bank should harness these opportunities in interest of both the people and the bank.

On the occasion, Head of Financial Institutions of the Bank Deepak Gaddhyan said, “RBL is a fast growing private sector banks with an expanding presence across the country. Presently the bank serves over 5.33 million customers through a network of 269 Branches and 388 ATMs spread across different states and Union Territories of the country”. The bank will shortly open 2 more branches in Odisha at Jajpur and Paradeep.

Surinder Chawla, Head Business Banking said that the bank would provide banking services for agriculture, trade & commerce, developmental programmes and financial inclusion along with other normal banking facilities in the State of Odisha.

The State Head of RBL Ishan Samant Roy appraised that RBL Bank has earned several recognitions in various national and international forums. It has been counted as India’s Best Bank for five consecutive years (2012-2016) in the mid-sized segment (Growth) by a study of Business Today. RBL Bank is listed on both NSE and BSE.

Special Secretary Commerce & Transport Manoj Kumar Mishra, Director Institutional Finance Pradeep Kumar Biswal, MD Odisha Police Housing Corporation Lalit Das along with senior officers from Government of Odisha, Railways, representatives from corporate houses and commercial establishments joined the occasion as guests of honor.
