Rayagada Firing and Murder Case: Prime Accused Nabbed from Bihar

Rayagada Police achieved a major breakthrough in the Nikhil Hadappa firing and murder case that occurred on May 10, 2026, at Indira Colony, Rayagada Town.

Six teams operated under the direct supervision of SP Swathy S Kumar, IPS, to track down the accused. Additional SP Ramendra Prasad, IPS, led the technical team that coordinated the pursuit.

The accused repeatedly evaded arrest despite multiple close encounters with police. In a decisive move, the prime accused — Umesh Hial, Raj Seemli, and Akshaya Samal alias Tinkulu — were finally nabbed within the jurisdiction of Madanpur Police Station in Aurangabad district, Bihar.

Police followed all legal procedures to secure transit remand and are bringing the arrested individuals to Rayagada for further interrogation. The operation marks a significant step forward in cracking the case that shook the town earlier this month.

Raids and investigations continue across multiple locations as police intensify efforts to apprehend other suspects linked to the crime. Officials confirmed that more arrests are likely but withheld additional details pending further investigation.
