Rape and murder of minor girl in Bhadrak: Prime accused arrested

Chandbali: The Odisha police have arrested the prime accused in the alleged rape and murder of a minor girl in the Chandabali police station area of Bhadrak district.

The prime accused Satyabrata Das has been arrested from Jagatsinghpur.

Tension continues to prevail in the area as angry locals staged road blockades at three locations, burning tyres and demanding justice at Baligaon and Madhu Babu Chhak. The protesters have also barged into the Chandabali panchayat office.

Body of the 10-year-old girl was recovered yesterday from a dense forest under the Chandabali police station limits. According to information, the minor had left home after informing her family that she was going to school. When she failed to return, her family members searched for her, following which her body was found in the forest in a pool of blood.
