Rain triumphs again as league stages end with another washout

In an ironic end to the league stages of the 2025 Women’s World Cup, one more game was lost to rain as India and Bangladesh were forced to split points in Navi Mumbai on Sunday (October 26). The other blemish of the day proved to be the injury to Pratika Rawal that abruptly ended her participation in the game with India now sweating over her fitness ahead of their crucial semifinal bout on Thursday.
The revised target of 126 appeared to be a cakewalk for the hosts even though Amanjot Kaur walked out with Smriti Mandhana in Rawal’s absence. Mandhana in particular appeared to be in a rampaging mode when she cracked four boundaries in an over. India raced to 51/0 in just seven overs and were well on their way to pick up a resounding victory before rain arrived again ten deliveries later to put an end to the match for good.
