Railways announces new weekly special trains

Khurda: The Railways has announced to introduce new weekly special trains to provide a smooth travel experience and manage the increased passenger rush during the festive season.
The Railways arranged the special train services to meet festive season demands and passenger convenience, covering important stations across the East Coast Railway zone.
Check the details about the new weekly special trains:
SAMBALPUR – ERODE – SAMBALPUR SPECIAL (08311/08312)
- Train No. 08311 Sambalpur–Erode Weekly Special Express will depart Sambalpur at 11:35 hrs every Wednesday up to 26.11.2025.
- Train No. 08312 Erode–Sambalpur Weekly Special will depart Erode at 14:45 hrs every Friday up to 28.11.2025.
- Halts in East Coast Railway: Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Parvathipuram, Bobbili, Vizianagaram Jn, Kottavalasa, Duvvada.
- Coach Composition: 2nd AC – 1, 3rd AC – 3, Sleeper – 9, General – 4, Second class luggage cum Divyangjan – 2, Kitchen/Pantry Car – 1.
NEW TINSUKIA – SMVT BENGALURU – NEW TINSUKIA SPECIAL (05952/05951):
- Train No. 05952 New Tinsukia–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Special will depart New Tinsukia at 18:45 hrs every Thursday up to 30.10.2025.
- Train No. 05951 SMVT Bengaluru–New Tinsukia Weekly Special will depart SMVT Bengaluru at 23:50 hrs every Sunday up to 02.11.2025.
- Halts in East Coast Railway: Bhadrak, Jajpur Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Balugaon, Brahmapur, Palasa, Srikakulam Road, Chipurupalle, Vizianagaram, Kottavalasa, Duvvada.
- Coach Composition: 3rd AC – 2, Sleeper – 16, Second class with break van and luggage – 2.
The railways also made the following temporary changes in train services in view of safety-related modernisation works between Jajpur Keonjhar Road – Bhadrak section from 16th to 22nd September 2025.
Train Cancellations:
- 68442/68441 Puri – Jaleswar – Puri MEMU will remain cancelled on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday (16th to 22nd September 2025).
Short-Termination/Short-Originations (Effective from 16th to 22nd September 2025):
- 68424 Cuttack – Bhadrak MEMU will be short-terminated at Jajpur Keonjhar Road on Tuesday and Saturday.
- 68423 Bhadrak – Cuttack MEMU will start from Jajpur Keonjhar Road instead of Bhadrak on Tuesday and Saturday.
- 68438 Cuttack – Bhadrak MEMU will be short-terminated at Jajpur Keonjhar Road on Thursday and Sunday.
- 68437 Bhadrak – Cuttack MEMU will start from Jajpur Keonjhar Road on Thursday and Sunday.
Rescheduling of Trains (from 16th to 22nd September 2025):
- 12703 Howrah – Secunderabad Falaknuma Express → Rescheduled by 1 hour 30 minutes on Tuesday and Saturday.
- 12840 Chennai – Howrah Express → Rescheduled by 2 hours on Wednesday and Saturday.
- 18419 Puri – Jaynagar Express → Rescheduled by 1 hour on Thursday.
- 12819 Bhubaneswar – Anand Vihar Terminal Odisha Sampark Kranti Express → Rescheduled by 1 hour on Sunday.
- 22896 Puri – Howrah Vande Bharat Express → Rescheduled by 2 hours on Sunday.
Passengers have been requested to take note of these changes and plan their journeys accordingly. The modernisation and safety works are being undertaken to ensure safer, faster and more reliable train operations in the coming days.
