Raghu Mohanty, The Power Hanker

Baleswar (Reporters Today Bureau): With the by-elections in Tirthol and Baleswar on November 3, the BJP has announced its candidates for both the seats. Manas Dutt, son of the late MLA from Baleswar, has fielded, while Rajkishore Behera from Tirthol to contest in the upcoming polls. In addition, the party has announced a 13-member campaign committee. Former minister Raghunath Mohanty, who has been ousted from the BJD, has been given the charge of the campaign committee. But it is learned that Raghu Mohanty is leaving the BJP and joining the BJD again.

Barsha Soni had filed a complaint against her father in law Raghu Mohanty, the then minister in 2013. Barsha accused him of dowry abuse by her father-in-law’s house. Raghu was pressured by the party’s supremo to resign. Then in the 2014 election, the party ignored him. Nityananda Sahu was selected for the seat. Raghu suffered headaches until the 2019 elections. But even in 2019, he was conspired not to get a ticket. At the last minute, he resigned from the party on March 31, 2019 and later joined the Bhartiya Janata Party and contested from Basta as BJP candidate.

Despite all this, he is going to join the BJD again. What could be more embarrassing than that? How did a big politician like Raghu digest the insults of the BJD? Whether Raghu is blinded by greed for power or his morality is dead. One day, he resigned from the ministry because of his morality. Where did that morality go today? Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das is said to have played an important role in bringing him back to the party. But where was Pranab in the 2019 elections? Daughter-in-law Barsha withdrew her complaint in 2016. Then why Raghu didn’t get a ticket in 2019? How did Raghu forget that insult? Isn’t there a political ideology in politics? Is the entity, the ministry everything for them?

The truth of the matter is unknown. But if this is true, then another disgusting face of Raghu is coming to the fore. What would such a leader understand the problems of the people? What did Raghu learn from the experience he had while in the BJD? Is he really happy to be back in the BJD or is there any pressure behind it? Time will tell.
