Queue Based Darshan System at Puri Srimandir to Be Introduced Soon: Law Minister

A queue-based darshan system is likely to be introduced soon at Puri Srimandir, Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan has said. A pilot model has been prepared to streamline darshan and improve crowd management at the temple.
Harichandan said the Pratihari Nijog would inspect the proposed ramp first, followed by consultations with other servitor groups, including the Chhatisa Nijog. The proposal will subsequently be placed before the temple management committee, and the system will be introduced on a trial basis after a consensus is reached.
The Pratihari Nijog has also suggested rope barricades as an alternative for managing queues. However, the Law Minister said rope barricades could pose challenges during heavy crowds, underlining the need for a more structured arrangement.
The final decision on implementation will be taken after consultations with the servitor groups and the temple management committee.
