‘Pushkara’ Wins Best Odia Film at 71st National Film Awards

Bhubaneswar: The Odia film Pushkara, directed by Subhransu Das, has bagged the Best Odia Film award at the 71st National Film Awards. The honour was presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a special ceremony in New Delhi, attended by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Based on eminent writer Sankar Tripathy’s novel Nadabindu, the film delves into themes of tradition, identity, and social transformation in rural Odisha. Featuring Sabyasachi Mishra and Supriya Nayak in lead roles, Pushkara has already earned widespread acclaim at several film festivals.

Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo congratulated the team, calling the achievement a proud moment for Odisha’s cinematic legacy.

“Heartiest congratulations to the entire team of Pushkara and director Subhransu Das for winning the National Film Award for Best Odia Film,” Singh Deo said, praising its storytelling, cultural depth, and creative excellence.
