Puri Police Hold Traffic Safety Awareness Drives in District Schools

Puri: As part of efforts to promote road safety and responsible behaviour among young citizens, Puri Police conducted a series of traffic rules awareness programmes in schools across the district.
The initiatives were organised under the broader “Operation Jeevan Raksha (Road Safety)” campaign launched by the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Central Range, Cuttack. The programmes were carried out in coordination with school authorities and the local administration.

Students actively participated in various awareness activities, including debates, quizzes and cultural performances, aimed at highlighting the importance of following traffic rules and adopting safe road practices. Traffic police officials also interacted with students, sharing practical guidance on pedestrian safety, safe driving habits, and the need to wear helmets and seatbelts.
Officials said the objective of the drive is to instil a strong sense of road safety and responsibility among students at an early age. Puri Police reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such outreach programmes to help build a sustained culture of traffic discipline and accident prevention among the youth.
