Puri Mobile Shop Owner Found Dead; Suicide Suspected

Bhubaneswar: The body of a mobile shop owner was found inside his store located near the Baseli Sahi police station in Puri, triggering shock and suspicion among locals. The deceased has been identified as Umakant Nayak of Mangalaghat.

According to police, Umakant was discovered hanging from a rope with an oxygen pipe strapped to his head, indicating a possible suicide. A scientific team, along with Baseli Sahi police personnel, began an investigation at the spot soon after the discovery.

Officers recovered a suicide note from the shop, which reportedly points to a family dispute as a possible reason behind the incident. The body has been seized and sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.

The incident, occurring just in front of a police station, has created widespread concern in the area as authorities work to establish the sequence of events leading to Umakant’s death.
