Puri: The Odisha government has opened the online registration process for women planning to observe Kartika Brata in Puri this year. The initiative will provide registered Habishyalis with free accommodation and other essential facilities during their stay in the holy city.
Kartika Brata will be observed from October 26 to November 24 this year. Under the government-supported arrangement, as many as 2,500 women from across Odisha will be accommodated free of cost.
The selected Habishyalis will be housed at Brundabati Nivas, Municipal Kalyan Mandap and the Railway Tourist Complex in Puri.

Apart from accommodation, the facilities will include organised darshan at the Shree Jagannath Temple and free Mahaprasad for the participating women.
Women from all 30 districts of Odisha can apply for the scheme through the Odisha government’s e-District portal. Applicants will have to complete the online registration process to avail themselves of the facilities during the month-long religious observance.
