Pradhan to flag off individual running of Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Exp today

Surjit Dhal, BHUBANESWAR, AUG 23: Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan will flag off the individual running of Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road-Bhubaneswar Express and inaugurate Odia script in unreserved train tickets on Saturday from ECoR headquarters here through videoconferencing.

State Commerce & Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera, Science & Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, and MLAs Ananta Narayan Jena and Susant Kumar Rout will grace the occasion as guests at Rail Sadan, here.

State Industries and MSME Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra, Leader of Opposition in OLA Pradipta Kumar Naik and Lok Sabha Member Basanta Kumar Panda will grace the local function at Junagarh Road Station.

It may be recalled that earlier Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road-Bhubaneswar Express were running jointly with Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express between Bhubaneswar and Rayagada from both the directions and were being separated at Rayagada towards Jagadalpur and Junagarh Road, respectively.

The individual running of the train will fulfil the long standing demand of the people of Kalahandi district besides saving passengers’ time in waiting for link at Rayagada Railway Station.

Odia script in unreserved train tickets will be implemented from August 24. Passengers can purchase train tickets of Odia script from all the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counters in Odisha.
