Police Step Up Probe into Singer Humane Sagar’s Death

Cuttack: The Cuttack Police have intensified their investigation into the death of popular Odia singer Humane Sagar following a detailed complaint filed by his mother, Sephali Suna, seeking a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding his demise.

The complaint was lodged at Markat Nagar Police Station on December 21, 2025, in which Suna described her son’s death as untimely and suspicious, and urged authorities to examine all possible angles and hold those responsible accountable under the law.

Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo said a case has been registered based on the allegations raised by the family. “All allegations, medical documents, and statements have been reviewed. We are coordinating with doctors at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where Humane Sagar was undergoing treatment. The investigation is ongoing, and all relevant documents are being collected to ensure a proper and thorough inquiry,” he told the media.

Humane Sagar passed away on the evening of November 17, 2025, at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he was being treated for multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, chronic liver failure, pneumonia, and related complications.

The singer’s sudden death has sent shockwaves across Odisha, with fans and members of the Odia music industry mourning the loss of one of its most popular voices.
